Slide 17 Leap Frog, Winch Style
The wrecker is winching the Blazer up the hill. The dozer was unable to pull the Blazer as dead weight. As a consequence, we were reduced to playing a game of leap-frog. The dozer could pull the tow truch since it had a usable rear axle. Then, the truck would winch the Blazer. Repeat until done. In this shot, note the tow chain between the FJ-40 and the wrecker. For small slope hills, the FJ-40 could provide the required assist for the wrecker, but we still had to winch.
