Both the top and the bottom of "The Rock". We did the observation area at the top of Rockefeller Center and then the Sea Grill Resturant in the basement.

The Experience

We knew that our time in Manhattan was growing short, so we were on a mission to do "tourist things". One of the things that was on the list was a visit to the observation deck at the top of Rockefeller Center. Top of the Rock is on the 70th floor of the building.

A view looking downtown from the top of Rockefeller Center. The Statue of Liberty is visible on the island at the right.

Kathleen enjoys the view from the top.

The Met Life building in the forground with the Chrysler building behind it. The East River is visible in the background.

View looking north over central park.

To the northeast. The funky structure is the Hurst building.

It is a long way down.

Construction dominates the Manhattan skyline.

Bill works the rangefinder camera.

View of the upper east side as sunset approaches.

There was a pro photographer there who I pegged as a "camera guy". He was kind enough to take our photo with the 1DsMII .

The empire state building as sunset approaches.

Kathleen on the very dry, very warm ice rink .

Odd statuary at the ice rink.

Another great trip in Manhattan. Even the tourist things are interesting and fun.
